Investment Fair

I spent my Friday night and most of Saturday at an investment fair. Not real entertaining, but very interesting. There was a wide variety of speakers. The most useful were the educational speakers and the 3-panel Q/A session with experienced mutual fund investors. I was pleased to hear information that was opposite of the bleak news I’ve been hearing from other sources. I was also impressed with some of the non-conventional wisdom and methods that were discussed.

The owner of this car has a start up company selling hydrogen generator kits. I was pretty annoyed with them because they refused to answer my technical questions about how their control system worked. They wouldn’t even let me look under the hood.
I was amazed that an event like this only brought in about 50 participants. It makes me think that most people just aren’t interested in managing their own investments. This is unfortunate, since your best interests are rarely served when someone else is managing your money. To me, this is related to taking personal responsibility for your own situation.

Who Wants to Steal Quadzilla?

This is what I found today.
IMAGE_083
I didn’t notice it this morning or at lunch, so I figure it must have happened this afternoon in the parking garage at work. Seems harder than just breaking the glass, which makes me think they might want to steal the truck… the factory alarm is disabled by turning the lock cylinder. I’ve stopped carrying anything of value in there, except maybe a trailer hitch worth $50 brand new. My project tomorrow will be to disconnect that wiring so that the alarm will go off unless the keyless signal is used. This really gets me pissed off, talk about TREADING ON ME!!!

The Itch

Once upon a time lived a beautiful Queen with large breasts. Ted the Dragon Slayer obsessed over the Queen for this reason. He knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try to touch them, but he had to try. One day Ted revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, the King’s chief doctor. Horatio thought about this and said that he could arrange for Ted to more than satisfy his desire, but it would cost him 1000 gold coins to arrange it. Without pause Ted readily agreed to the scheme.

The next day, Horatio made a batch of itching powder and poured a little bit into the Queen’s bra while she bathed. Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense. Upon being summoned to the Royal Chambers to address this incident, Horatio informed the King and Queen that only a special saliva, if applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch, and that tests had shown that only the saliva of Ted would work as the antidote to cure the itch.

The King, eager to help his Queen, quickly summoned Ted to their chambers.. Horatio then slipped Ted the antidote for the itching powder, which he put into his mouth, and for the next four hours, Ted worked passionately on the Queen’s large and magnificent breasts. The Queen’s itching was eventually relieved, and Ted left satisfied and hailed as a hero.. Upon returning to his chamber, Ted found Horatio demanding his payment of 1,000 gold coins . With his obsession now satisfied, Ted couldn’t have cared less and, knowing that Horatio could never report this matter to the King, and with a laugh told him to ‘get lost’.

What Gears Should I Use

I need to decide which ring and pinion gears to use. (currently have 3.73) I was thinking I wanted 4.30’s, but now I’m considering 4.56. Conventional wisdom says my gas millage will go down, but I’m not convinced of that. These charts don’t take into account the torque converter slippage.

373

In 3rd gear at 65MPH, there is 500 RPM difference between having the 3.73 gear sand the 4.56 gears.
At 75 MPH, the difference is 750RPM.
