Genetically Modified Organisms

GMO = Genetically Modified Organisms, which is one of the main products of Monsanto, who is the maker of Roundup. Roundup used to be advertised as “biodegradable” until being sued for false advertising. Monsanto is also the maker of DDT, agent orange, and bovine growth hormone (rBGH), all of which were marketed as being “safe” chemicals.

Why do I bring this up? If you don’t know, then you probably didn’t listen to Jack’s podcast today. You probably also haven’t watched “The World According to Monsanto“.

Never mind the information contained the “The China Study“. If you are a good sheeple, you will not be bothered by this information. You are probably too busy to be bothered by such things. You likely have more important things to worry about.

OK, I might be going through a mid-life crises. My brain might be turning into mush. This might be the end of the era of rational thought for me. Or, I might be paying just enough attention to truth and facts to begin to understand something huge. Science, big business, and government are intertwined in a way that places a low priority on “what is best for me”.

Several things are telling me the same story:
1- Start eating whole foods from local sources (best if they come from your backyard).
2- Avoid consuming processed food. (this probably includes GM foods or meats that have consumed growth hormones)
3- Use your power as a consumer to change. Seek out foods that are safe to eat.
4- Use your brain, question the things you hear. Understand that marketing and advertising assholes are selling you something and using you.

Be careful, if you start paying attention, you will be mad as hell.

Purple Mailbox Bit the Dust

Amber and I were lucky enough to go on a date night. We went to see the movie “Australia”, which was a great movie. While we were filling up with gas, we witnessed a dumbass drive their car right over a boulder that was placed on the corner of a driveway. 10 seconds later, I saw a near-accident as another dumbass pulled right out in front of oncoming traffic and almost got flattened. On the road home I was sure we saw a drunk driver. He made several abrupt moves and poor judgment calls, and almost ran us over at one point. When I turned on our block, I saw several bricks on the road… then I noticed that the mailbox was missing.

It turns out playing the bowling game is much more fun when Bryson is watching. He waits for the ball to hit the pins then laughs hysterically to entertain everyone in the room.

Shed Finally Painted

My neighbor Wooder came over with his paint sprayer and helped me FINALLY finish the shed last weekend. We color matched the house, so it blends in nicely. (much nicer than the primer tiger stripes) Rachel and Bryson played under Amber’s supervision while we worked.
