Garden Update: May 7, 2010

Lots of lush green growth right now but a few plants are stumbling.  I put a few more plants in the ground, planted some more beans, and cut out some of the lettuce, it getting too hot for it already and it is bolting and turning bitter.

Sugar Snap Peas are getting big - taste great

I admit I don’t know a lot about blueberries, but I was at the nursery today stating what I was currently growing and asking if I needed a 2nd or different plant for the various fruits and vegetables I was growing. The nursery worker told me I need two varieties of blueberries for polination and production purposes. I have two plants, but they are the same, so I may be buying a third soon. Just something I learned, I thought I would share.

I usually ask as many questions as they will let me get away with when I go into a business that specializes in growing things…
