Poor? $1000 cash to have your tubes tied!

You have to be trained and pass a test to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or teacher. You have to pass a test to drive a car. Why not sterilize everyone at birth, then after some training and passing a test, you earn the RIGHT to reproduce and become a parent?

OK, my brilliant plan has some flaws, but what about State Representative John LaBruzzo’s plan. He says he will pay $1000 to women on welfare to have their tubes tied. Brilliant!

The following link contains the original story, plus some audio from John:
LaBruzzo defends tube tying plan

Dave Cohen Reporting
State Representative John LaBruzzo wants to pay poor women to tie their tubes.

The Metairie Republican says, “Our prison rates are going up. Our welfare roles are going up.” LaBruzzo tells WWL First News, “The problem is, one day, if we continue on this trend we’re going to have more people receiving from government and not paying taxes, than we do who are paying taxes and putting into government. When that day comes, it’s going to be the end of America as we know it, and that’s the problem.”

The Art of Manliness

One of my favorite websites is artofmanliness.com.

The site has all kinds of interesting stuff, if you are interested in manliness that is.

Free E-Book: Guide to Being a Gentleman in 2008 (alt download link)
This is a must read! Not only do I recommend reading this little booklet at least twice, I recommend printing many copies and handing it out to every man you see, especially that pretentious jackass who is walking around with a bluetooth headset in his ear.

Here was today’s article that caught my eye:

How To Debate Politics Like A Gentleman (link to original post)

Bryson continues to develop at what Amber and I think is rocket speed. To me, he already looks like a grown boy in this picture.

Six Years of Talk, Results Finally!

Ever since we moved into our house, people have been “talking” about getting this entry sign built. It was promised by the developer, and due to many reasons the construction was delayed. Somehow I thought it would be a good idea to volunteer to be a board member on our HOA, and after two years as my inherited pet project, it is finally getting built.

Poem to Mom (Mean Old Mother)

Poem to MOM
My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.

“Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that’s taught by Mr. Wright?
It’s all about the laws today,
The ‘Children’s Bill of Rights.’

It says I need not clean my room,
Don’t have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don’t have to bow my head,
And I sure don’t have to pray.

Scam Attempt

I’ve been monitoring craigslist for a good deal on a used motorcycle. I ran across a nice used BMW for a great price. Turns out it was too good to be true! (dang) I’m posting our email conversation here in case this loser uses the same email address… maybe it will come up in a google search and the next person he deals with will be able to find my experience with the low-life weasel.

If George Bush would start a new policy of preemptive smart-bomb attacks on scammers (and spammers), I’d support him!

The original craigslist ad is below. I knew something was screwy since the ad didn’t list the millage. You can click the images below for a larger view.

MAKING SENSE OF THE HEADLINES
A quick-and-dirty guide to what’s going on

By Kim Snider | September 18, 2008

When the news broke over the weekend about Lehman Brothers seeking bankruptcy protection and Merrill Lynch being sold to Bank of America, I knew we would receive lots of calls. What I didn’t expect was my mother to be the first one!

She woke me up early Monday morning under the guise of making sure we were OK after the storms of the weekend. Hurricane Ike wound up moving fairly east of the Dallas area, so we got some wind and rain, but nothing serious. What she was really calling about, however, was to find out if her money was OK. She had seen the headlines about Lehman, Merrill and AIG, and she was understandably nervous.

F-16 vs C-130

A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F-16 flashed by. The jet jockey decided to show off. The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, ‘watch this!’ and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb. He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier. The F-16 pilot asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that?

Politically Correct

Due to the climate of political correctness now pervading America, Kentuckians, Tennesseans and West Virginians will no longer be referred to as’HILLBILLIES.’

You must now refer to them as
APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS

And furthermore
HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT WOMEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT:

1. She is not a ‘BABE’ or a ‘CHICK’ – She is a
‘BREASTED AMERICAN.’

2. She is not ‘EASY’ – She is
‘HORIZONTALLY ACCESSIBLE.’

3. She is not a ‘DUMB BLONDE’ – She is a
‘LIGHT-HAIRED DETOUR OFF THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY.’

4. She has not ‘BEEN AROUND’ – She is a
‘PREVIOUSLY-ENJOYED COMPANION.’
