  • When Medicare was adopted, the elderly were the wealthiest group of Americans, as they are today
  • In 1979, the majority of federal transfer payments went to the poor; today 64% goes to the middle and upper classes
  • Massive federal entitlement programs, whatever their motives, NO NOT WORK
  • Health outcomes from Medicaid patients are worse than patients that have no insurance at all
  •  Medicare and Social Security have not reduced poverty among seniors
  • Current unfunded liabilities under the two systems of Social Security and Medicare amount to more than all the money in the world
