Pump It Up

Posted on February 28, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

We all went to Ft Worth to celebrate Carson’s 3rd birthday today at a cool place called Pump It Up.  They had two rooms of big inflatable bounce houses and slides.  Even though I was suffering the after-effects of drinking high-octane German beer the night before, I partook in the bounce-house fun too.  We had a great time.  Bryson said, “That was a FUN party!” when we left.  He wanted to go straight to bed after his bath tonight, so I know he was worn out.

Tomato Seedlings

Posted on February 28, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

img_5462
Bryson helped me transplant some tomato seedlings today. His specialty is placing the plastic markers in the pots and making holes in the soil with his finger.  So far, 14 of my tomatoes have sprouted from seed that I planted 1 week ago.  None of the eggplant or pepper have sprouted yet.

I also planted all of my new trees.  (4 dwarf apples, dwarf apricot, dwarf peach, 2 pawpaws, persimmon)  I ordered some of the trees from Stark Bros and some of them from Gurneys.  The trees from Stark Bros were packaged better and were about twice as big as the ones from Gurneys.

The Best Thing on the Internet

Posted on February 22, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

There are many things I really like about the Internet. Discovering Bill Whittle‘s weekly Afterburner shows has to be my current favorite. If I were a talented blogger I’d be able to elegantly describe why you should be a fan also. But, all I can come up with is to tell you to go watch his most recent video. If your interest is not stirred, then I’m not sure what to say!

Joe Stack and the Tea Party Folks

Posted on February 21, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

I ran across the video below and found it very interesting. I’m not completely in agreement with the author, but he brings up some very good points.

Posted on February 15, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

Due to my whining (1) (2), I’m known as the stupid golf cart picture taker guy. This was the situation pointed out to me today.

A Republican, Libertarian and a Democrat

Posted on February 12, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

A Republican in a wheelchair entered a restaurant one afternoon and asked the waitress for a cup of coffee. The Republican looked across the restaurant and asked, “Is that Jesus sitting over there?”

The waitress nodded “yes,” so the Republican requested that she give Jesus a cup of coffee, on him.

The next patron to come in was a Libertarian with a hunched back… He shuffled over to a booth, painfully sat down, and asked the waitress for a cup of hot tea. He also glanced across the restaurant and asked, “Is that Jesus over there?”

The waitress nodded, so the Libertarian asked her to give Jesus a cup of hot tea, “My treat.”

The third patron to come into the restaurant was a Democrat on crutches.

He hobbled over to a booth, sat down and hollered, “Hey there, honey!
How’s about getting’ me a cold glass of Miller Light?”

He, too, looked across the restaurant and asked, “Is that God’s boy over there?”

The waitress once more nodded, so the Democrat directed her to give Jesus a cold glass of beer. “On my tab,” he said.

As Jesus got up to leave, he passed by the Republican, touched him and said, “For your kindness, you are healed.” The Republican felt the strength come back into his legs, got up, and danced a jig out the door.

Jesus also passed by the Libertarian, touched him and said, “For your kindness, you are healed.” The Libertarian felt his back straightening up, and he raised his hands, praised the Lord and did a series of back flips out the door.

Then Jesus walked towards the Democrat. The Democrat jumped to his feet and yelled, “Don’t touch me —I’m collecting disability!”

Snow in Dallas

Posted on February 12, 2010 by Brian Gallimore

Amber sent me these pictures of all the snow.  I can’t believe it!  She said Bryson wanted to go outside to play in it, but that only lasted a few minutes until his hands got cold.
