Wisconsin Judge Rules No Right to Own a Cow or Drink Its Milk

WI Judge to Zinniker, FTCLDF: No “Fundamental Right to Own a Cow, or Consume Its Milk… Am I Making Myself Clear?”
~ David Gumpert

Wisconsin seems to be one of the favorite places to live for socialists in the USA. Common thought is that you have a ‘right’ to other peoples stuff, but don’t have a right to do as you please with your own property. (I guess the Declaration of Independence doesn’t mean much to them)  Anyway, news like this is still surprising.  I hope the citizens of Wisconsin fight this judge and come to the side of reason and freedom.  I can’t help but to think back to the commercial “California cows are happy cows” and think, yup, Wisconsin cows must hate living among all these liberal nutjobs!

Using the Soil Cube to Start Seeds

In an effort to get more vegetables planted this fall, I decided to start a few trays indoors using the soil cube I won earlier this year.  (not having much luck starting from seed directly out in the garden)  Pictures of the finished cubes are posted on the northtexasvegetablegardeners.com website.  I hope that keeping them in the garage until they are big will help out— easier to keep them moist and they stay protected from all the critters out in my garden.

For the family, here is a video of Bryson trying his hand at the soil cube tool:

It’s The Bankers Fault!

Anonymous released another creepy video.  They are telling us it is the bankers fault.  I don’t really disagree with this, but what I’m more interested in is where this is all going.  The protests on Wall Street don’t seem to involve a large quantity of people.  Lots of armchair quarterbacks are rooting them on, but I have questions like, “will this gain traction?”  Liberals seem to be most exciting about the ‘movement’, because of it’s anti-corporate theme.   (and I have to laugh at facts like this picture points out)  My wish is for what Dan Carlin asked for in his most recent show  — How about all the different groups like the Wall Street protesters and the Tea Partiers stop being pawns of the divisive political tricks and agree on ONE thing — that we demand a government that is beholden to and representative of us (we the people), not the big-money corporations, banks, interest groups, etc.”  Can we stop playing all the BS games and arguing about everything else to agree on this one thing?  (I don’t think so, but it is nice to think positive)

Touch a Truck Car Show

We went to a pretty neat car show this afternoon.  All the vehicles were open and let kids climb in (and honk the horns).  Bryson had lots of fun.  My favorite was playing in the big trucks with range-splitter manual transmissions.

The due-process-free assassination of U.S. citizens is now reality

The due-process-free assassination of U.S. citizens is now reality – Glenn Greenwald – Salon.com.

  • After several unsuccessful efforts to assassinate its own citizen, the U.S. succeeded today
  • the U.S. Government has seized and exercised exactly the power the Fifth Amendment was designed to bar (“No person shall be deprived of life without due process of law”)
  • From an authoritarian perspective, that’s the genius of America’s political culture.  It not only finds way to obliterate the most basic individual liberties designed to safeguard citizens from consummate abuses of power (such as extinguishing the lives of citizens without due process).  It actually gets its citizens to stand up and clap and even celebrate the destruction of those safeguards.
  • What amazes me most whenever I write about this topic is recalling how terribly upset so many Democrats pretended to be when Bush claimed the power merely to detain or even just eavesdrop on American citizens without due process.  Remember all that?  Yet now, here’s Obama claiming the power not to detain or eavesdrop on citizens without due process, but to kill them;

Resilient Neighborhood Presentation

Here is a presentation I put together for my neighbors earlier this spring. It is a broad overview of preparedness meant to spur discussion in a group.

I don’t think anyone I live near is interested in this topic, but maybe it will be useful to someone!

Live Free of Die

In Bill Whittle’s Afterburner video “Live Free or Die”, he goes through the recent crash that happened at Reno Air Races, and the predictable outcry of the statist that followed.  He then gets into something very interesting: “the socialism that you promote so vigorously has probably killed more people than the combat fatalities of all the wars all of humanity has ever experienced, combined”.   The order of things that have killed humans are:

  1. Disease
  2. Socialism
  3. War

“I think the greatest evil in the world is to be given something that entire galaxies of stars don’t have: the give of life, of being alive.  Of weighing and accepting risks in order to see and do things that dead things and living dead people can not or will not do, and therefore do not want you to do either.”
