Wife Doesn’t Approve of New Security Camera

I might add some music and captions to this video later to give it a little humor, but check out the body language as I take a wife-beat-down for my choice in camera placement. My favorite is how I hang my head in defeat as I walk away.

Hayek vs. Keynes Rap Anthem

I just ran across this great video (rap anthem style) of FA Hayek and J Keynes arguing economic philosophies. I think this is a great project because I’m convinced the way out of our current economic and political mess is through an informed electorate.  Not many people will start reading financial philosophies on their own, but watching a comical video, lots of people will do that, I hope.

“Fear the Boom and Bust” a Hayek vs. Keynes Rap Anthem

Turns out this video is a project of econstories.tv, where there are more videos and mini-documentaries. Here is the sequel, which I think is better than the first!

Fight of the Century: Keynes vs. Hayek Round Two

I think the reason Keynes philosophy is so prevalent is because it can be used as justification for some of the actions of statist and socialist.  After all, we all believe our politicians really do have our best interests at heart, right?

Time Lapse View from Space Fly Over

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space, Fly Over | NASA, ISS
by Michael König

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space, Fly Over | NASA, ISS from Michael König on Vimeo.

Time lapse sequences of photographs taken by Ron Garan, Satoshi Furukawa
and the crew of expeditions 28 & 29 onboard the International Space Station from
August to October, 2011, who to my knowledge shot these pictures at an altitude
of around 350 km. All credit goes to them. I intend to upload a FullHD-version
presently.

HD, refurbished, smoothed, retimed, denoised, deflickered, cut, etc.
All in all I tried to keep the looks of the material as original as possible,
avoided adjusting the colors and the like, since in my opinion the original
footage itself already has an almost surreal and aestethical visual nature.

Fight for Liberty?

After watching the Mike Judge’s movie “Idiocracy” yesterday and hearing the asshole neocons talk about their desire for more torture, more wars, and more assassinations, I have a renewed interest in helping others understand what makes the USA such a special place.  I’ve posted this before, but it is worth re-posting because the basics of liberty are so important, and most people really don’t understand these concepts completely.  Lots of important information is packed into this 8 minute video “The Philosophy of Liberty“:

Ron Paul and Israel

I just ran across this “For the Record” video by Malotov Mitchell.  I was sure we would bash Ron Paul like all of the main stream media assclowns do, especially since I know Malotov is a big supporter of Israel and that Ron Paul is not so big on the idea of giving other countries lots of money we don’t have.  But wait, this is not the main stream media, this is the new media, where real freedom of thought exists.  Check this out:

And there is more! Malotov has produced several videos about Ron Paul:

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed

Ben Stein’s documentary movie “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” is about the issue of academic freedom and the lack of debate over intelligent design.  It has lots of elements that make it very interesting to me:  freedom arguments, NAZI history, tricky editing from interviews (that fatass Michael Moore isn’t the only one who does that you know), lots of controversy, being the underdog, being right, fighting the establishment.  The whole thing is available for viewing on youtube, but I can’t embed the video.  Here is the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEvq4xIHmH4.  Definitely worth watching, make up your own mind about the content though!  I think I was first exposed to the topic of ID a few years ago.  (previous post about ID)

Texas Master Naturalist

The local chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist (The Blackland Prairie Chapter) meets 8 minute from my house, so it is very easy to get there for their monthly meetings if I get home in time. A very friendly group of people, and they line up interesting speakers too. Their mission statement:

To develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities. Many communities and organizations rely on such citizen volunteers for implementing youth education programs; for operating parks, nature centers, and natural areas; and for providing leadership in local natural resource conservation efforts. In fact, a short supply of dedicated and well-informed volunteers is often cited as a limiting factor for community-based conservation efforts.

It fits right in with all the permaculture stuff I’m already interested in. The offer two classes per year, and unlike the Master Gardeners, they do the class in the evenings so that normal people can participate. I already turned in my application!

The True Political Spectrum

The left/right labels we normally use to describe political camps are flawed. A better (or additional) judgement is to use a scale between total power and zero power. The graphic here shows this very nicely. (note the ‘you are here label’ too)

The video “Overview of America” by the John Birch Society explains more about these different forms of government from a slightly different point of view:.
