Adventure in Lobstering

I had the opportunity to go out scuba diving for lobster yesterday. I’ve been hearing about this spot Hugo found by accident, where there were lobsters everywhere. We got to the spot and snorkeled around for about an hour looking for the spot, and after moving the boat once, we finally found it.

flag@whitehouse.gov

So, is anyone else disturbed by the announcement from the WHITE HOUSE, requesting you send “fishy disinformation” (read dissenting opinion) regarding anti-socialized healthcare to them? (for God knows what purpose) How do you feel about the ever growing, power hungry, corrupt, leadership collecting your email address and possibly more?

The first amendment of the US Constitustion specifically prohibits the federal government from “abridging the freedom of speech, …and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Just a reminder, in case you are someone who still believes this document is important.

This action is dispicpicbible in my opinion. What is happening in Washington DC (District of Corruption)?

I recommend sending several emails to “flag@whitehouse.gov” containing all the information you can gather about why you might not think swift, expensive, unread, misunderstood, socialized healthcare legislation is a great idea. I just did. If you need some help, go here and here.

Bryson’s Playhouse

Last weekend, we bought a used playhouse for Bryson. It was pretty basic and a little old, but well built and the price was good. The folks that were selling it were really nice, and helped me load it up after we disassembled it. Brandon helped me unload it and set it up.

Google Voice

My account for Google Voice was activated last night, so I played around with it a bit. I’m very impressed! The brainiacs at Google have created something great.

This (free) service will give you a “permanent” phone number that you can give to everyone. You then set up your cell phone, work phone, and home phone to receive calls, and Google rings all or some of the phones you have based on your set of rules (time of day + person calling). It records and transcribes your voice mail, then emails you both the recording and text of the message! They even have a SIP interface through gizmo5.com.

People calling you don’t ever learn of your real phone number. You have the option to screen your calls too, listening to the voice mail as it is recording. Very impressive stuff!

My First (real) Open Water Dive

It was about 10 years ago when I took a class in college and became scuba certified. Being that we were in west Texas, my certification dive occurred in a pond that was about 15 feet deep. On our honeymoon, we did a little off-shore dive in Mexico, and that was about 7 years ago. Yesterday, I went out with a few of the guys I work with to see if I could remember how to do it. Ken and Lisha just went through their class and had brand new equipment:

Vacation Pictures

Air boat tour by the Miccosukee tribe, then the Vizcaya, then the freak show known as South Beach. A busy day for sure.
