I’ve made 4 car ownership decisions in my life, and I’ve always made the choice to buy a Chevrolet. I’ve always liked the style, ride, comfort, power, accessory availability, etc. Today we received a letter in the mail from GM saying thanks for being a customer, we are still here, ready for business, better than ever because we are backed by the government, don’t let our bankruptcy worry you because we are marketing it as “reinvention” and we really think you should buy a new vehicle from us. Then at the bottom of the letter was this coupon:
I’m writing the following “open letter” to GM:
—
Dear GM:
Go to hell. You are not only a failure, but you are a sellout weasel bitch. You begged for $20billion to keep you out of bankruptcy, now you are stealing $30billion more after bankruptcy. You sold out to the UAW and you sold out to the government. You deserve to die a horrible death. I will not support your company any more. I feel sorry for all the people who’s lives you have ruined, like your employees.
Sincerely,
Brian Gallimore

Now I have a huge problem. Will I have to buy a Ford next time? I generally hate Fords. A good portion of my own family work for Ford and I still hate them. I can’t go to Chrysler, they suck just as much as GM. My generation has been known as the generation that has no historically significant event that defines us. I think that is about to change. I think we are going to be the last generation of the USA as we know it. I don’t like where this leads
Brian to piss you off more let me tell you where the money for Government Motors came from…. The loans to bail them out came from China. So the Italians own Dodge and the Chinese gave the money for the Obama change corporation to “assist” GM. When are people going to wake up and smell the total downfall of the USA. Obama will have a press conference giving heath care benefits to guys who kiss guys and girls who kiss girls tomorrow. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/06/16/obama.same.sex.benefits/index.html
More of the change and hope, huh? For myself, I have never like change very much. And, I used to have hope, but somehow the only thing I am hopeful for is change in the next election cycle.
Very well said. If our elected fools don’t stop digging, we might not have to worry about our next vehicle. We’ll be riding around in our current GM products twenty years from now with a one-eyed, malnourished beast of burden pulling us.
Great article, Brain. I think you should amend it just a little bit to reference some of the things discussed in the news article you forwarded yesterday about GM and the US. I was listening to NPR on the way to work this morning and they discussed more things that would have pissed you off. Supposedly, in exchange for temporary government ownership during bankruptcy Congress would not get involved in decision-making and let the CEOs continue to right the ship. Of course, what actually happened, as in any government involved plan, lobbyists and congressmen began petitioning to keep dealers, parts manufacturer, and plants open (in their district, of course). And the worst part is the congressmen even admit it over the air. Nevermind the “Greater Good” of the intent. It was gross self-promotion for the upcoming election cycle. There is no “Hope” or “Change” with our current “Democratic” process.
REAL CHANGE WILL ONLY COME WITH PITCHFORKS AND TORCHES!
Have a nice day.
A wise man sent this article to me:

It is well worth the time to read it.
You have heard who the new CEO of GM is…..Uncle Ed from AT&T (originally Southwestern BELL)
