I could have used another few days to work in the garden this weekend, but that isn’t going to happen. The grape vines are growing vigorously. Lots of fruit. I pruned lots of them, and straightened the vines up.
Blackberry bushes are taking over the whole corner.
Something has been eating on this one.
This little okra plant had leaves on it two days ago.
My fancy water system has an issue. I have some digging in my future.
Top secret hidden storage area for some of my ugly junk. I plan on using the two 275 gallon IBCs for rainwater collection. The HOA was bitching at me for the bricks lining my driveway, so I moved all them back here too.
I bought a few more tomato plants on Friday and planted them here. I also put the wire cages around the peppers.
All my pea plants have this white mildew powder on them. Yuck.
My other bed of corn is doing good too.
These tomato plants look way too close to each other. I’ve been pinching off the sucker vines like I’m supposed to; I’m anxious to see how they do. So far, they all look happy.
Something has been munching on my chard too.
I moved my big pots with the blueberry plants inside the fence, at the request of the new, watchful, HOA leadership.
I heard some commercial on the radio about a restaurant serving shish-ka-bob on skewers of rosemary branches. Sounded like a good idea to me, and I couldn’t resist buying a few plants while I went to Lowe’s today. I planted it in the front flower bed, so everyone will enjoy the smell at the front door.
notes from 5/6/09:
2 new tomato plants from Wells Bros
5 or 6 tomato seedlings transplanted, very weak and spindly looking
4 new okra seeds
5 cantelope plants, separated from 1 clump in a pot
2 cherry peppers, separated harshly from 1 clump
12 pole beans seeded around corn
And the real question is…Can Amber keep it all alive while Brian is out of town for two weeks?
Awesome man. Careful of the Rosemary, that stuff will EXPLODE into a big bush. I have several. Nice smellin’ though.
Wow! I’m impressed!
Great looking garden man.
