Bryson had many firsts this weekend. First hotel room, first wedding, first time to eat at Cracker Barrel… OK so maybe saying “many” is overdoing it.
Bryson watches everything that goes on around him. He also mimics much of what he sees. Since the tissue dispenser was at his level, he kept grabbing tissues and “blowing” his nose.
The dinner table was the hotel room floor.
The “call for help” button in the elevator was also within Bryson’s reach. I don’t think the San Angelo 911 operator cared how cute our little boy was when we had to talk to her.
The water fountain was a big attraction. He finally learned how to stand on something and lean over to touch the water.
Bryson caught Grandpa holding another baby, and he was NOT impressed one bit.
Uncle Braxton was a favorite destination.
A rare moment. Amber spent most of the trip home turned around backward in her seat trying to entertain Bryson.
We drove through the big wind turbine farm south of Abilene.
This is the mechanism used to allow multiple locks on the gate.
This picture doesn’t really convey the size and quantity of these windmills. Driving around them is a bit disorienting because they are huge, and they stretch as far as you can see in both directions. Amazing! This is a must see for anyone going near this area.
We stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch. I got to rest a few minutes while Bryson climbed on all the chairs (and Amber supervised)
I was excited to pass “Fordzilla“, who was one of the participants of Carpocalypse on Spike TV a few years ago.
These may look cute, but they are stinky.
All things considered, everything went very well and we had a nice time. Bryson is way off schedule and cranky, but hopefully after a little home time he will be back to normal.
I feel for Amber. My wife hasn’t sat in the front seat since Julia was born. When #2 comes along in November (BTW, doctor confirmed a boy last week), Julia is in for a rude awakening. She will be heartbroken that, not only is Mommy riding up front with Daddy, but that she has to sit beside her stinky little brother.
this posting along with Bryson’s reminded me of another wedding not that long ago with a 2 1/2 year old that wouldn’t get off the elevators at the hotel or church…thank goodness he didn’t call 911….I can’t remember my sign in for Bryson’s blog
OK, I received confirmation from a reliable source that the Fordzilla we saw was authentic!

Any idea if this could be the “authentic” Fordzilla?
