The proposal is to promote a “Congressional Reform Act of 2009.” It would contain eight provisions, all of which would probably be strongly endorsed by those who drafted the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (but not the incumbants).

1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.

A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension:
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

govtrack.us Tracker Tool

I just ran across a very nifty tool tonight. It comes from the govtrack.us website, which is dedicated to letting you figure out what is going on in Congress. Click on the “Track” button, and specify what all you want to keep track of. I just put in my two senators and my representative. Next, it creates a custom news feed (RSS) for you to add to your newsreader. If you still don’t use a newsreader, don’t worry, it creates a custom web page for you too.

You want change, right?

I’ll jump on the shit-throwing bandwagon with both feet, what the hell. The info below was received via an email forward. -BG

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon.
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high–14,000 +
5) American’s were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!.

But American’s wanted ‘CHANGE’! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes, we got ‘CHANGE’ all right. In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices
